In our “point and click” instant gratification world, businesses in all sectors are constantly looking cost saving ways to erect and maintain building structures. Once considered a solution generally geared toward temporary housing and disaster relief, fabric and instant buildings are now surging in the marketplace. (These structures are also called “tensile” buildings because the fabric is stretched by tension.) Constructed using a rigid frame (steel, timber or aluminum), the fabric cover is stretched over the frame and “tensioned” in place to create the stable structural support of the building. The simplicity and stability of these non-structural buildings makes them ideal for countless usages. They can be installed quickly, provide natural light through the fabric, can be climate controlled, easily relocated, and may represent lower operational costs. The flexibility and possibilities are endless. However, finding a technically advanced, safe, secure and economical way to “close” these usually large structures has been a challenge… until now.
Introducing the Hy-Rise from Hydroswing®. The Hy-Rise high performance door system from Hydroswing® is a large door system designed specifically for the instant and tensile building market. This is the first large door system to overcome the specific challenges associated with non-structural openings. The patent pending Hy-Rise is free-standing with zero dependency on the building structure. This allows the internal gable end profile to be neatly maximized with the corners of the pre-hung frame. The result is a maximum opening width and height whilst maintaining an aesthetic profile of the building. The Hy-Rise renders cost prohibitive sliding, fabric and sectional doors obsolete.
Like all Hydroswing® Door Systems, the Hy-Rise is pre-hung in its own frame and is capable of extremely high wind loadings. This revolutionary door also has the ability to carry either the fabric system of the building (should that be required) or all the usual cladding used in construction or architecture. This included the use of 26 gage steel and even architectural glass. The door profile allows the curvature of the building’s shape/roof to be maximized without large “jagged” radar-grabbing signatures (important for military considerations) that are present when bottom rolling or fabric doors are needed for external frame support.
The Hy-Rise door is fully bolt-together with no onsite welding required. We use the latest locking nut technology from Alcoa Fasteners and the Hy-Rise is also the first Hydroswing® to utilize the zero maintenance hinge system.
The tensile and instant building market is prolific in all Hydroswing’s existing sectors including aviation, agriculture, industrial, storage and special purpose, military installations, forward operating bases, vehicle maintenance, drone shelters, sport facilities, and more. The Hy-Rise incorporates Hydroswing’s many years of experience and knowledge that has made us as an innovator in the hydraulic door market.
